Angelika Frankenstein Makes Her Match by Sally Thorne

My favorite spooky Halloween read this year is the rom-com queen @sallythorneauthor Sally Thorne’s retake of Frankenstein. This quirky, macabre read imagines Angelika Frankenstein and her brother Viktor, searching morgue basements for the perfect specimens to bring back to life. Feisty, smart Angelika created her perfect man and with some murky science, “He’s alive!”. But what does it mean to be brought back from the dead? Is suffering a part of living? And can true love survive death?

Like all of Sally Thorne’s books, the heroine is impossibly clever and brilliantly funny. The couple’s banter is steamy and the supporting characters are fully fleshed out. Best of all, Thorne doesn’t shy away from the sizzle and spark but keeps us laughing even in the most erotic scenes.

If you’re looking for a light-hearted read with a fresh trope and a spin on an old classic, check this one out.
